It became clear to me that because caregiver families had no voice, no comprehensive organized database... no one knows where they all are, and we would have to find them. Finding caregiver families can be accomplished by something called 'crowdsourcing'. By leveraging social media, advertising, and word of mouth, we can find them.
Once we find caregiver families, then we have to find people of the faith community who would want and be willing to help them. Some will be individuals and some as an organized group. So, again using crowdsourcing, we will find them too.
We will then have two databases and we will match caregiver families by their zip code with people from the faith community. After figuring all that out, I decided to make it happen, so I created Faith2care.org as the vehicle to collect the information and make the matches, to get help to those who want help by those who want to help.
The website will be the hub. It will be simple. A massive organization is not needed.
BUT... we will be able to connect the other two groups (caregivers and faith people) with a third group, I call the 'resource' group. This is made up of all the businesses and nonprofits and research universities that have resources for caregivers. Many organizations see the problems caregivers face. So they put out materials to give advice, or hotlines to call to talk to trained professionals. Others have created products to sell that help. Some offer services of trained people or nurses to work directly with the family member who has the health condition.
Faith2Care will list these groups by category and geographic location to make it easy for the caregiver and person of faith to find information relevant to each caregiver’s situation or the stage of decline their loved one is in. Faith2Care provides an incredible win/win for this resources group. They will now have the direct and indirect opportunity to be found by all those signed up with Faith2care.org
The more this grows, the more we raise awareness for caregivers. By keeping it simple and internet-based, it is fully scalable and duplicatable. By the second year, I plan to expand to Canada, the UK, and Australia.
Faith2Care is not affiliated with any faith-based organization or religion. It is a startup 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit. It is organized solely to bring help to caregiver families who need help. Real help. People coming to their homes to find out what help they need and then do it. No charge, ever.
Together we can find all caregivers who need help and connect them with people of love and compassion in their community, who will help them.
